Albert L. "Jake" Collier, 91, Cloverdale, died Tuesday at Mill Pond Health Campus, Greencastle.
Born in Morgan County, he was the son of Charles Bird Collier and Flossie Myrtle (Kaywood) Collier.
He had been a heavy equipment operator and carpenter, and a member of Mt. Meridian Church of Christ.
He married Trillis N. McKamey on Dec. 12, 1936. She died Sept. 29, 2003.
Surviving are three daughters, Ila M. Price and husband Ray, Cloverdale, Loretta Jones and husband Gordon, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Portia Regan, Hayppauge, N.Y.; two sons, Gary D. Collier and wife Lanette, Tim J. Collier and wife Lynn, all of Cloverdale; five brothers, Clarence "Moose" Collier and wife Ruby, Charles Collier and wife Maxine, all of Spencer, Herschel "Dick" Collier, Gosport, Ivan "Phil" Collier, Bloomington, and Howard Leroy Collier and wife Reba, Stilesville; 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; daughter Darlene Bastin; sons Barry Lee Collier, Doyle L. Collier and Duane Allen Collier; sister Mary Anna Gotwals, and brothers Frank, Ralph, Willis Robert, Thomas Minor, and Dewey H. Collier.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Gary Collier officiating. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7:30 p.m. Friday.
