The Greencastle girls' soccer team won again Tuesday evening, defeating West Vigo by a sound 11-2 margin.

Coach Maurice McKee said his Lady Tiger Cubs started out slow but soon got up to speed.

Whitney Brotherton was the first to score with 37:15 remaining in the first half. Hannah Spencer followed with a goal at 32:53.

West Vigo got its lone first half goal at 28:07, scoring on a high-arching direct kick with 28:07 remaining.

However, Brotherton and Spencer weren't done, as Brotherton scored again at 22:52, and Spencer scored her second just 21 seconds later.

Katie Farris got into the action, making the score 5-1 at the 15-minute mark.

Spencer and Brotherton had both completed hat tricks by the break, as Spencer headed one in for her third and Brotherton added No. 3 at 4:24.

Becky Grivas brought the halftime margin to 8-1, as she dribbled up from the backfield and scored with 2:10 to go.

West Vigo scored first in the second half, bringing the defecit down to six with another direct kick at the 23:31 mark.

But Greencastle had more goals in them. They mixed up their starters in the second half, and Hannah Deer scored with 22:48 left. Laura English was next, scoring at 17:31. Taylor Neumann added the game's final goal with 12:03 remaining.

"The girls played well after they got started. There was a lot of good passing going on throughout the game," McKee said.

Greencastle visits Southmont at 10 a.m. Saturday.
