Several accidents have been reported by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office due to icy road conditions.
Taylor Hale, Bainbridge, was traveling on County Road 250 E at 4:10 p.m. Monday, when he attempted to make at turn. His vehicle began skidding due to ice on the road causing him to hit a vehicle driven by Ronald Perkins Jr., of Roachdale. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.
Dominque Busenbark, Waveland, was traveling on County 625 W at 8:10 a.m. Monday, when her vehicle left the road and into a field. Busenbark stated she continued to travel to S.R. 231 and U.S. 36 before noticing any damages. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Daniel Abbey, Seymour, was traveling east on I-70 in the left lane due to merging traffic for emergency vehicles in the right lane. Abbey stated he slowed his speed with the flow of traffic and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Key Wade of Terre Haute. Both drivers pulled over and waited for law enforcement to arrive. The accident occurred at 4:55 a.m. Monday. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Amanda Fish, Roachdale, was attempting to travel up an icy hill on County Road 300 N at 6:10 p.m. Saturday. Her vehicle would not make it up the hill and she came to a stop. A vehicle driven by Daniel Lucas of Roachdale was traveling down the hill and slid into the rear of Fish's vehicle. The accident occurred at 6:18 p.m. Saturday. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.
Jerry Cox III, Greencastle, was traveling south on County Road 600 W at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, when he lost control of his vehicle on a curve due to the icy road conditions. Tony Schlegel of Carbon was on C.R. 600 W in a Verizon-owned pick-up truck repairing phone lines destroyed by individuals shooting into them. Schlegel noticed Cox's vehicle out of control and decided to pull off to the right side of the road. Cox's vehicle struck the driver's door of Schlegel's truck, pushing it into a ditch and causing it to overturn. No injuries were reported at the scene. Bainbridge Auto towed Cox's vehicle to his residence. Schlegel's company truck was towed to Russellville by Ron's Towing. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.
Roy Davies, Greencastle, was traveling south on Main Street in Fillmore at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions and struck a power pole. His vehicle was towed to Jerry's by Jerry's Towing. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.
An unoccupied Ford F150 pick-up truck was pulled off to the left side of County Road 675 E and partially in a driveway at 3:14 p.m. Saturday, when a vehicle driven by James Young, North Salem, was attempting to travel up a hill on ice. Young's vehicle would not turn causing it to hit the unoccupied truck. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Catherine Crosby, Cloverdale, was attempting to slow her vehicle for a curve on County Road 550 E, when she lost control due to icy road conditions and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported at the scene. The accident occurred at 2:25 p.m. Saturday. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Shelby Hacker, Cloverdale, was traveling on County Road 700 S when her vehicle began to slide on a curve. She was unable to regain control leaving the road and hitting a pole. No injuries were reported. The accident occurred at 2 p.m. Saturday. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Mary Reynolds, Cloverdale, was traveling east on County Road 1000 S, when her vehicle began to slide due to icy road conditions. Her vehicle struck a utility pole and came to a stop on a creek bank. Reynolds' vehicle was towed from the scene by Steele's Towing. The accident occurred at 12:08 p.m. Saturday. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Jason Ross, Camby, was traveling west on I-70 at 8:41 a.m. Saturday, when he crossed Deer Creek Bridge and began sliding due to icy road conditions. His vehicle struck the concrete structure of the bridge. Ross made his own towing arrangements at the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Angela Metz, Shelbyville, was traveling west on I-70 at 7:59 a.m. Saturday, when her vehicle slid off the road due to a patch of ice. Her vehicle struck an embankment and small trees. Metz's vehicle was towed by Steele's Towing. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
There were several individuals booked into the Putnam County Jail during the weekend.
Nicholas Bright, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 3:35 p.m. Thursday for burglary and theft.
Kerry Gilbert, 28, Coatesville, was booked at 7:38 p.m. Thursday for operating while intoxicated and domestic battery.
Randall Huff, 41, Greencastle, was booked at 2:57 a.m. Friday for operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.
Jake Cole, 24, Cloverdale, was booked at 4:29 a.m. Friday for probation violation, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
Brandon Chambers, 26, Greencastle, was booked at 5:47 a.m. Friday for resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and possession of paraphernalia.
Jeffrey Baker, 50, Cloverdale, was booked at 11:35 p.m. Friday for child molestation.
April Brooks, 40, Greencastle, was booked at 2:15 a.m. Saturday for providing false information or offering false evidence of identity and false reporting or informing.
Michael Walker, 49, Stafford, Va., was booked at 1:12 a.m. Monday for operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.
Erica Thompson, 31, Greencastle, was booked at 10:26 a.m. Monday for probation violation.
