Hog wrestling event disturbing to couple

To the Editor:

The picture on the front page of the Aug. 2 Banner Graphic, "Squealing, mud-slinging fun," is disturbing.

The hog-wrestling event may have been fun for the girls, but it surely was not fun for the pig.

In fact, it is animal cruelty.

4-H is supposed to represent the best in the care of animals. This kind of activity sets a bad example in the care of other animals, especially to younger persons.

It encourages "fun" with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, etc., which may not be fun for the animal.

4-H can do better.
