Business After Hours planned for Tuesday at Almost Home

Hanson Aggregates will host the August Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Almost Home, 17 W. Franklin St., Greencastle.

The event will feature hors d'oevres, drinks and door prizes.

Cloverdale Masonic Lodge No. 132 working Tuesday

Cloverdale Masonic Lodge No. 132 will be working the EA Degree Tuesday at 7 p.m.

All Masons are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Fireworks light up the sky Saturday

Lieber State Recreation Area will host Fireworks at the Beach on Sept. 4.

Friends of Cagles Mill Lake will sponsor the event, which will begin at dusk. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets on which to sit.

The program is free, but donations toward next year's fireworks display will be accepted.

The usual park entrance fee of $5 for Indiana residents and $7 for non-residents will be charged at the gate for each vehicle.

Tai Chi for beginners starts Sept. 9

The Greencastle chapter of the Taoist Tai Chi Society will host a beginner class starting on Sept. 9 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Taoist Tai Chi promotes health, fitness, balance and stamina. No experience necessary; all ages are welcome.

The class takes place at First Christian Church, 110 S. Indiana St., Greencastle. Enter through the parking area on the north side of the building.

The class will meet each Monday and Thursday at the same time and location through Dec. 16, except Thanksgiving.

Celebration marks 40 years at South Putnam

An informal celebration of South Putnam's 40th year is planned for Sept. 18 at the Hill Top Shelter at Lieber State Recreation Area.

Alumni from all classes as well as friends, families and current and former staff are invited to attend. The event will take place rain or shine.

The celebration will begin at 2 p.m. Attendees should bring their own picnics, refreshments and chairs.
