Robinson to headline Jazz and Blues festival
GREENCASTLE -- Award-winning Blues performer Tad Robinson will headline the 7th annual Crown Street Jazz and Blues Festival, set for Sept. 5 at the FYCDP Community Center in Greencastle.
Six area bands will perform during the fundraising event, which benefits the Family Youth and Community Development Program as it provides tutoring and other services to residents of Greencastle and Putnam County.
The music begins at 1 p.m. with The HausKatz onstage. Also performing are Convergence at 2 p.m., Robinson at 3 p.m., the Randy Salman Quartet at 4 p.m., Blues Side Up at 5 p.m. and Anon and the Late Show at 6 p.m.
A variety of foods will be available to purchase. Bids may be placed in the silent auction, and raffle tickets will be sold.
Emcees for the event will be Putnam County judges Matthew Headley and Denny Bridges.
The Jazz and Blues Festival is the primary fundraiser for the community center, which has provided a variety of special programming for youth, senior citizens and families since it opened through the generosity of DePauw University.
Adult tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at gate, and $5 in advance for students ($6 at gate).
