Be on your guard

Friday, September 23, 2011
At 6:01 p.m. on Thursday this Ford truck, driven by 20-year-old Tanner Dunn of Clayton, drifted into the guardrail along U.S. 231 near the Brick Chapel Cemetery. Though the vehicle was damaged and towed away by Jerry's Towing in Greencastle, Mike Downing of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department said Dunn was only shaken up and was later picked up by his father. Bainbridge Police and Fire Departments also assisted in the investigation.

  • There was a wreck involving 2 cars in that exact same spot on Wednesday. Are there any investigations as to why? This is a straight-away. People just need to pay attention. It's not a tricky part of the road.

  • I'd say driver inattention to vehicles ahead of them waiting to go west off 231...skid marks at intersections like this one always tell a story.....

  • At least no one was hurt. An investigation is still needed, maybe a turn lane would be useful?

  • There's not enough traffic for a turn lane. Just people paying attention is all that is needed.
