North Putnam student in hospital following serious accident
ROACHDALE -- A North Putnam High School junior was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, following a Monday evening automobile accident.
Morgan Robinson of Roachdale, was injured in a collision with a tree shortly after 7 p.m. Monday. A representative of St. Vincent 86th Street could not advise Robinson's condition on Tuesday afternoon, but confirmed the 17-year-old was a patient of the hospital.
At 7:07 p.m., the youth was westbound on County Road 900 North in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE1. A deer ran into her path, so she swerved to miss the animal, overcorrected and lost control.
The car left the road, striking a phone box and a tree.
When responders arrived, Robinson said she could not feel her legs. St. Vincent's emergency helicopter service StatFlight was dispatched to the scene, transporting Robinson to the hospital.
Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Phillip Troyer, PMH Ambulance Service and the Roachdale Fire Department responded to the accident.
