Duo Amabile will perform a program of etudes, polkas and sonatas by Ravel, Scriabin and Schittke Monday night, concluding with Camille Saint-Saens's "La Muse et le Počte," with guest cellist Eric Edberg at the Green Center's Thompson Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Duo Amabile, composed of pianist Katya Kramer-Lapin and violinist Matvey Lapin, will join forces with cellist Eric Edberg for an evening of chamber music in the Green Center's Thompson Recital Hall on Monday (tonight) at 7:30 p.m.

Since its formation in 2003, the classical duo has thrilled audiences with an extensive repertoire of 18th to 21st century music.

Kramer-Lapin, a member of the DePauw School of Music keyboard faculty, has appeared on many occasions alongside the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as in prestigious venues in Europe and Asia.

Lapin, a former member of the famed St. Petersburg String Quartet, is known for his work both as a chamber and solo artist in major concert halls around the world.

The duo's guest artist, Eric Edberg, who is member of the School of Music faculty and DePauw Chamber Players, is also well known to the community as the founding artistic director of the Greencastle Summer Music Festival, a free weekly concert series that will return to Gobin Memorial Methodist Church for its ninth season beginning in May.

For the Monday night performance in Thompson, the three musicians collaborate on an intimate program of etudes, polkas and sonatas by Ravel, Scriabin and Schittke, concluding with Camille Saint-Saens's romantic "La Muse et le Počte," for violin, violoncello and piano -- a single movement piece composed in 1910 as the world's first film score for the silent drama "The Assassination of the Duke of Guise."

General admission tickets for faculty recitals at the Judson and Joyce Green Center for the Performing Arts are $3. Admission for all students and seniors over 65 are free.
