'Test Drive Ivy Tech' effort to roll out in Greencastle April 6

The 'Test Drive Ivy Tech' program will be coming to Greencastle on Saturday, April 6. Interested participants will have the opportuinity to visit Ivy Tech and explore the college.

If you've thought about going to college but just aren't sure if it's for you or where to begin, come "test drive" Ivy Tech Community College, 915 S. Zinc Mill Rd. in Greencastle, on Saturday, April 6.

The program is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Interested persons can enter the "showroom" and embark on a self-guided test drive or choose an accompanied test drive with a tour guide at 9:15, 10:15 or 11:15 a.m.

Each "exit" off the Campus Highways will lead to destinations where you'll explore the college and check out how you look in the Ivy Tech driver's seat as you maneuver through features like affordability, mileage, options, trade-in value, comfort and more.

Five exits will feature information about the school and five others will provide demonstrations of specific educational programs offered by the college.

"This is a fun event designed to let people who may be undecided about college or a little uncertain about the process come kick the tires so to speak and test drive the college experience," Becky Miller, interim vice chancellor/dean at Ivy Tech Community College in Greencastle, said.

Each area will be guided by staff and students to answer questions. The showroom will also have a "refueling station" with popcorn.

The event is free and open to the public.

Ivy Tech Community College is the state's largest public postsecondary institution and the nation's largest singly accredited statewide community college system serving nearly 200,000 students annually with campuses throughout Indiana.
