Kindergarten registration dates scheduled for GCSC

Registration dates have been set for students entering kindergarten in the Greencastle Community School Corporation for the 2013-14 school year.

Registration for Deer Meadow will take place Tuesday, April 23 from noon to 7 p.m. Ridpath registration is set for Thursday, April 25 from noon to 7 p.m.

These registration sessions are only for incoming kindergarten students. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years old on or before Aug. 1.

Parents should enroll their children at the appropriate school for the area in which they reside. Anyone who is uncertain about which school to attend may call either school for assistance.

Parents need to bring the following with them: Your child, your child's birth certificate and your child's shot records.

Parents will complete some general paperwork and the online registration process in the computer lab. Children will participate in some basic assessments for speech and hearing, language arts and math.

Kindergarten teachers and other school staff members will be present throughout the afternoon and evening.
