Wildflowers, wild edibles at McCloud

NORTH SALEM -- Join naturalists at McCloud Nature Park on Saturday, May 11, for a free program designed to teach which wildflowers and wild edibles grown at McCloud Nature Park.

Participants will be introduced to some common and not-so-common native plants before heading out on a field identification hike.

The program is designed for all ages, and will last about 90 minutes.

The group will meet at the nature center at 2 p.m.

McCloud Nature Park is operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation and is located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 N. Hughes Rd. Admission is free. The park is open from dawn to dusk daily.

Nature Center hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
