Opening Bell for Market

Monday, May 6, 2013
While it's a little early for fresh produce, several other items grown, sewn or made locally were available, including caramel corn and popcorn varieties popped and sold by Lynda Dunbar (above, left) to Mandy Henk and daughter Hazel who peddled up for a little snack.

Despite a little drizzle and some cool temperatures, the Greencastle Farmers' Market got off to an encouraging start Saturday morning on the east side of the courthouse square. Anyone who would still like to vend at the weekly market may contact market master Paula Evans at 653-1255 or go to meetatthemarket@gmail.com.

Meanwhile, John Bean, alternating between his fiddle, banjo and guitar, strolled through the market, providing opening-day music.
