Orville Roger Nodley, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 with his family by his side.

He was born on Nov. 2, 1924 in Mt. Sterling, Ky., to Robert S. Nodley and Ora Ellen Lykins Nodley.

Mr. Nodley was a Quincy High School graduate. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Roger attended New Life Baptist Church, and was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion.

He was the former owner of Premier Porcelain in Indianapolis, and was a skilled carpenter who built his own house. He achieved 60 years of service in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

His parents and four sisters, Agnes Scott, Gladys Blue, Elsie Taylor and Delsie Nodley, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Betty whom he married on June 27, 1948; four sons, Mike Nodley and wife Linda of Lebanon, Rod Nodley and wife Angi of Greencastle, Jerry Nodley of Greencastle, and Troy Nodley and wife Pam of Brazil; 11 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Dr. C. Michael Wren Jr. officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23 from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
