Rep. Rokita visits Endeavor to examine advanced technology
CLOVERDALE -- Endeavor Communications hosted 4th District Indiana Congressman Todd Rokita on Friday, May 10 at Cloverdale.
Congressman Rokita learned about the advanced technology Endeavor Communications uses with the building of its fiber optics infrastructure and the challenges rural telecommunications companies are experiencing with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) reforms.
"I had an informative, productive visit with the leadership of Endeavor Communications, and we had an opportunity to discuss some of the innovative ways they are serving Hoosier customers," Rokita said.
"It's always good to learn firsthand about some of the opportunities and challenges facing the telecommunications industry in Indiana," he added, "and to see how they're affected by policy decisions in Washington."
The fiber optic facility investment is being made available through the Universal Service Fund (USF) which enables rural companies to provide the needed services to the areas it serves.
"We were excited to have Congressman Rokita visit to learn about the investments we are making in the communities to deliver the advanced telecommunications services that are needed today and into the future," President/CEO Endeavor Communications Ralph Cunha said.
Endeavor Communications, founded in 1950 as a telephone provider to small towns and rural areas, is a cooperative, meaning it is owned by its members.
In 2007, the company became Clay County Rural Telephone Cooperative doing business as Endeavor Communications.
Endeavor currently provides telephone service, high speed internet, television, IT services including computer diagnostics and repair, and security solutions for homes and businesses to over 9,700 members who reside in parts of Putnam, Owen, Hendricks, Morgan, Tipton, Hamilton, Parke and Clay counties.
