Son T. Tran, 52, of Kileen, Texas, died on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on March 6, 1961 in South Vietnam, the son of Harry and Kim Tran.

Mr. Tran was raised and educated in Greencastle. He was an executive chef for more than 30 years in fine dining, including Ruth's Chris Steak House and Eddie Merlot's in the Indianapolis area.

He got his start cooking at the Walden Inn at Greencastle's Walden Inn under the tutelage of Matt O'Neill.

His passions in life were his children and his love for the culinary arts.

Survivors include his parents Harry and Kim Tran; wife Kim T. Tran; sons Adam and Matthew Tran; daughter Victoria Tran; siblings Bruce Tran, Kieu Thu Nguyen, Melissa Nguyen, Linda Tran O, Chau T. Tran, Robert Tran, Minh Tran and Michael Long Tran; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were handled by Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
