CLAYTON -- The Cloverdale eighth grade football team won its second game of the season on Thursday, beating Cascade 24-0.
The Clovers limited the Cadets' offense throughout the game and into negative yardage during the first half. Tyce Jackson returned the second half opening kickoff for a touchdown.
"Everyone played hard," CMS coach Billy Boyette said.
In the seventh grade game the Clovers lost 18-8.
"We made some mistakes that we just couldn't recover from," coach Petty said. "We had chances to tie up the game but a dropped pass and wrong reads hurt us."
The Clovers host North Putnam next week.
