Warren Alvin Johnson, 72, of Avon, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 in the Hendricks Regional Hospital.

Born May 11, 1941 in Hendricks County, he was the son of Maurice Johnson and Mable (Swank) Johnson.

He married Mildred Dawes, and she preceded him in death.

Warren served in the Army.

He was an electrician and had worked and retired from Avon Community School System.

He was a member of the Danville American Legion Post 118, and he enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include a sister, Wanda Ragan, Crawfordsville; two nieces, Vickie Woodall and husband Kenneth, Coatesville, and Rebecca Melton and husband Joseph, Bloomington; four nephews, Kevin Ragan, Crawfordsville, Charles Ragan, Crawfordsville, Rusty Ragan, Ladoga, and Chuck Johnson and wife Dena, Fla.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

His wife, parents and brother, Ronald Johnson, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. David Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery.

The Danville American Legion Post 118 will perform military rites at the cemetery.
