James Edward 'Ed' Minnick

James Edward "Ed" Minnick, 93, of Bainbridge, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1920 in Putnam County to Curtis Minnick and Sallie Priest Minnick.

Ed served his country in the U.S .Air Force, and retired from the Bainbridge Post Office where he was a rural letter carrier.

He was a member of Temple Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star and Scottish Rite.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Betty J. Minnick; siblings Zella Leonard, Donald Minnick and Jessie Minnick; daughter-in-law, Ella Minnick; son-in-law Bobby Fowler; granddaughter Lindsay Fowler and a great-granddaughter, Lacey Fowler.

Surviving are his son, Ed Minnick and wife Marti of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Jackie Fowler of Bainbridge, and Pat Minnick and companion Sherry Miller of Lebanon; sister Elizabeth Ash and husband John of Greencastle; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Mindy Huffman and Rev. Randall Boys officiating.

Interment will follow at Bainbridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
