County Jail

One person was lodged in the Putnam County Jail Thursday evening.

-- At 7:07 p.m., Bridget Rose Hemminghouse, 22, Terre Haute, was booked into the jail for driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff's Department

At 1:12 p.m. on Wednesday, Juanita L. Hasty, 75, Coatesville, was westbound on County Road 50 South in a 2004 Cadillac DeVille when she saw a Putnam County Highway snowplow approaching from the west.

She told Deputy Matt Biggs she pulled over to the shoulder as far as possible to allow the plow to pass, but the snow blade struck the midsection of the car.

Darrell L. Jackson, 60, Greencastle, said he was eastbound in the 2002 Stern tri-axle plow truck when he approached Hasty's car. He told Deputy Biggs that while he passed, his blade got caught by snow, pulling him left toward the car.

Jackson tried to correct, but the blade struck Hasty's driver's side door.

No injuries were reported.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

City Police

One recent traffic citation was issued by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 5:03 p.m. Thursday, Tara Campbell, 26, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Jeff Modlin on Veterans Memorial Highway for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.
