AVON -- South Putnam's wrestling squad finished its season with a lopsided loss at Avon Wednesday night, falling to the host Orioles 64-0.

The visit to the No. 14 team in the state proved to be a harsh lesson for the Eagles, who will return to Avon for the sectional next week.

In the night's marquee matchup, 220 No. 15 Jacob Williams lost in overtime to No. 13 Gunnar Larson 7-5.

Several other close matches also went to the hosts on the night. Nick Owen lost an 8-7 decision to Bailey Chatterton, while Kyle Shaffer lost a 5-2 decision to 182 pound No. 11 Evan Elmore and Lane Hacker succumbed to a 5-1 decision against heavyweight No. 14 Guy Henson.
