Gary Dale Dixon

Gary Dale Dixon, 75, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his home in Brazil.

He was born March 24, 1939 in Brazil to Eugene and Frances Stinson Dixon.

Gary attended Staunton High School, served his country in the National Guard, and worked as a welder and a pipe fitter for various companies throughout the country.

He was a founding member of the Jackson Township Fire Department and enjoyed attending the Mountain Man Rendezvous.

Gary loved German Shepherds, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, William and Earl Wayne Dixon.

Survivors Include his wife of 45 years, Linda Kieffaber Dixon, Brazil; a son, Jeffery Dixon, Brazil; a daughter, Lisa (Larry) Hughes, Terre Haute; a bother, Robert Dixon, Hawaii; two sisters, Janice Dixon, Brazil, and Diane Hari, Frankfort, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexanderia, Bailey and William.

A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday, April 10 at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil, with Pastor Shaun Riggs officiating and burial to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.

The family will accept friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or the Clay County Humane Society.
