Eugene Mike Fitzsimmons

Pastor Eugene Mike Fitzsimmons, 85, of Roachdale, passed away Sunday evening, May 11, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Roachdale on Feb. 3, 1929 to George Albert and Daisy G. Hale Fitzsimmons.

He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1947 and attended the Indiana Baptist Institute for two years. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of the New Life Baptist Church at Browns Valley was Pastor Emeritus there.

Sixty-six years ago on April 30, 1948, he married Gladys M. Riddle in Danville and she survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Larry) Nichols of Fort Wayne and Starlett Joyce (William) Northcutt of Pittsboro; three sons, Kent D. (Beverly) Fitzsimmons of Roachdale, Rodney A. (Cathy) Fitzsimmons of Haiti and Gary E. (Rebecca) Fitzsimmons of Indianapolis; one sister, Norma Bishop of North Salem; one brother, Raymond Fitzsimmons of Versailles; 15 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter,Cathy Jamison.

Funeral Services will be held at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland, on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 1 P.M. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Pastor Steve Rich will officiate and burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery.
