Windy Hill LGA is hosting a Rally for the Cure Golf Scramble on July 20. Rally for the Cure is a grass roots program that works to educate women about breast cancer and remind them to get their annual screening through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events.

More than 2 million people have participated in Rally events across the nation since its inception in 1996.

Windy Hill LGA has registered for the Rally event and invites the public to take part.

The day's activities will include a men's 18 hole scramble with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. and a women's 18-hole scramble beginning at 1:30.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner of the event and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information and other Rally items plus a subscription to a select Condé Nast magazine such as SELF, Golf Digest and Bon Appétit.

We are proud to open our facility and host a Rally for the Cure event.

"The event is a fun way for us to bring together our members and the community to support an important cause while playing a sport they are passionate about," Windy Hill Pro Thad Jones said.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. for the mens scramble. Cost for Non-members of Windy Hill will be $60, members will be $50, and members with a cart pass will pay $40.

This fee will include greens fees, cart fees, donation to The Susan G. Koman organization, two mulligans, and lunch.

All other funds raised from this events will stay in Putnam County to provide cancer screenings for those in need here at home.

To register your team call Windy Hill at 653-5470, or Trish Lowe at 653-6165. Hole sponsors are welcome at $50.
