CLOVERDALE -- Two drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash.

At 4:48 p.m., Indiana State Police and Putnam County emergency agencies were dispatched to U.S. 231 and County Road 700 South for the accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 Dodge Charger, driven by 41-year-old Carrieanne Phegley of Paris, Ill., was westbound on 700 South and attempted a left turn to proceed southbound on U.S. 231.

As she attempted the left turn, Phegley pulled into the path of a southbound Peterbuilt tractor, pulling a tank style trailer, and driven by 28-year-old Richard Yates of Park Hills, Mo.

The impact then forced the Charger into a stationary northbound Peterbuilt tractor pulling a tank style trailer, and driven by 54-year-old Wayne Mossman of Jackson, Mo.

Phegley was transported to Putnam County Hospital for treatment of internal pain. Yates complained of head pain, but refused treatment. Mossman reported no injuries. No tickets were issued.

Traffic was heavy on northbound US 231 because rerouted vehicles off of I-70 due to a fatal crash near the 30-mile marker.

The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Mike Laney. Assisting were multiple troopers from the Putnamville Post, Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Putnam County Operation Life, and Cloverdale Township Fire and Rescue.
