Both the guardrail and end cap suffered extensive damage as a result of impact from Debusk's vehicle.

Debusk's pick-up also suffered extensive and disabling damage to the front end, which was pushed back into the engine compartment and into the front tires.

McGuire was uninjured. However, McGuire failed a field sobriety test as well as a certified chemical test, Simmons reported, which resulted in his arrest for operating while intoxicated with a prior offense and public intoxication.
