North Pole PJs

Saturday, December 20, 2014
Banner Graphic/Jared Jernagan For their last day of school before Christmas break on Friday, the children were aware they would be able to wear their pajamas and enjoy holiday festivities, including the first-graders watching "The Polar Express" in a room that was transformed into the North Pole. But the children were surprised to find Santa Claus and his elves in full regalia where their principal and teachers were supposed to be. In the library around midmorning, the first-grade class of Elena Wilson (left) was greeted in the library not only by Santa (principal Mike McHugh), but by a box of jingle bells packed in ice, as they had been shipped to Wilson's class straight from the North Pole.
