THORNTOWN -- After jumping to a big lead early the Cougar baseball team hit a wall on Saturday. After Western Boone's comeback extended the game, North Putnam couldn't respond and fell in an 8-7 nailbiter.

The Cougar team earned a 5-0 lead in the first inning and they held the Stars scoreless through four.

At the top of the fifth the Cougars scored two more making the score 7-0 in favor of North Putnam.

Kyler Jeter notched six RBIs in a great day for him at the plate. Unfortunately for North Putnam, Western Boone then mounted a comeback, scoring three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth.

Then after a scoreless seventh inning the Stars added one more at the bottom of the eighth to end the game and seal the win.
