Full slate for fall municipal election

While the City of Greencastle provided the only races on Tuesday's primary ballots, the city will be joined by the five incorporated towns of Putnam County in the Tuesday, Nov. 3 municipal elections.

All elected seats in the towns of Bainbridge, Fillmore, Roachdale and Russellville will be on the ballot, as well as four of six positions in Cloverdale.

Bainbridge will feature races for clerk-treasurer as well as council seats in all three wards.

So far, two candidates have declared their intentions to seek office in Bainbridge. Independent Bobbi Boler will seek the clerk-treasurer position, while fellow independent Jerry L. Lents will seek the Ward 2 council seat.

In Cloverdale, clerk-treasurer as well as three council seats -- Ward 1, Ward 2 and one at-large -- will be up for grabs. Ward 3 and the additional at-large seat were elected in 2014, with Cindy Holland and Coweta Patton assuming these offices in January.

Early filings in Cloverdale feature two incumbents, with Republican Cheryl Galloway seeking re-election as clerk-treasurer and independent candidate Donald Sublett again running in Ward 2. Sublett has previously run as a Republican.

In Fillmore, the clerk-treasurer and all three wards of the council will be on the ballot. No Fillmore candidates had filed as of Monday, May 4.

In Roachdale, clerk-treasurer and the three at-large council seats will be on the November slate.

Thus far, independent Debbie Sillery has filed for clerk-treasurer and independent Jim Cromwell has filed for a council seat.

Russellville, like Fillmore, has no filings so far. Races on the ballot will be clerk-treasurer and the three at-large council seats.

The filing period for party candidates in the towns has now passed. However, independent candidates have until noon on Tuesday, June 30 to file for the November election.
