WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Bogeys on the final two holes kept Chad Collins out of a playoff for the The Greenbrier Classic championship Sunday, but couldn't keep the Cloverdale product from his first top-10 finish of the season and the fifth of his PGA Tour career.

Collins finished in a seven-way tie for sixth place at 11-under par, two shots off the pace in the nationally televised tournament.

Danny Lee (-13) won the title on the second hole of the four-man playoff, besting David Hearn, Robert Streb and Kevin Kisner.

With just two holes to play, Collins was neck and neck with that crew at 13-under. Unfortunately, he bogeyed the par-five 17th and the par-three 18th. Through three rounds, Collins had played the final two holes at three-under.

Collins' one-under 69 on Sunday completed a tournament that had him under par in each round, going 65-67-68-69.

If not for some remarkable shot making earlier in the final round, Collins might never have found his name among the leaders so late in the day.

After a bogey on the fourth hole left him one-over for the day, Collins fired back-to-back birdies on the sixth and seventh holes to get to one-under.

He repeated the trick on the back nine, with consecutive threes on the par-four 13th and 14th holes. These got him two three-under on the day and 13-under for the championship.

The biggest highlights of Collins' tournament likely came with his 65 on Thursday. After an early bogey, he clawed back to five-under with six birdies over the final 15 holes.

He followed this with a remarkable back nine on Friday to reach eight-under for the tournament and a solid round on Saturday to get to 10-under.

The 36-year-old Cloverdale High School graduate now finds himself in the top 100 on the PGA tour at 93rd. He has made the cut in 15 of 19 events -- including eight straight events dating back to early April. He has also finished at or below par in his last four starts.

Collins has finished in the top 25 four times this season, with his previous season best coming on April 5, when he finished 11th in the Shell Houston Open.
