Public access counselor to speak Sept. 14

On Monday, Sept. 14, Luke Britt, Indianašs public access counselor, will give a presentation on the Open Door Law and the Access to Public Records Act.

The presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Greencastle City Hall.

Britt was appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels in 2013. As public access counselor, his job is to provide advice and assistance concerning Indiana's Public Access Laws to members of the public, government officials and government employees.

This meeting is an opportunity for elected and appointed officials to learn more about their responsibilities under the law. It is also a chance for community members to learn their rights.

There will be time for questions following Britt's presentation.

Britt is a one-time summer intern of the Banner Graphic through the Hoosier State Press Association.

This meeting is open to all community members and is sponsored by the Greencastle League of Women Voters and the Banner-Graphic.

The Greencastle League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that works at the national, state and local level to build an informed electorate and encourages active participation in government.
