The incident began just before midnight Friday night when Officer Logan Hobbs of the Linton Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a Ford pickup truck for an equipment violation.

According to scanner traffic, the stop was for a headlight violation. At that time, the truck was northbound on State Road 59 north of Linton. Officer Hobbs reported that the truck failed to pull over and stop. Instead, the driver accelerated away from the officer.

Hollingsworth's vehicle traveled down several county roads at speeds well over the speed limits.

At one point, Hollingsworth allegedly swerved into the path of an Indiana State Police trooper, forcing the trooper to leave the roadway in order to avoid impact.

In addition to officers from the Linton Police Department, other officers responded from the Jasonville Police Department, Bloomfield Police Department, Greene County Sheriff's Department, Clay County Sheriff's Department and a K-9 officer from the Indiana State Police.

Officers were able to obtain the license plate number off the truck and determined the name of the owner of the truck.

When they received information that Hollingsworth was the driver, it was noted there was a warrant out for his arrest.

Hollingsworth was wanted on a parole violation involving a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm and another violation for felony resisting law enforcement.

With officers approaching on roads surrounding the chase location and one officer preparing to deploy stop sticks, Hollingsworth continued to resist with his vehicle and then took a turn off a county road into a field.

Indiana State Police reported Hollingsworth drove through multiple farm fields and caused thousands of dollars in crop damage.

The truck then became disabled in a bean field and Hollingsworth attempted to flee on foot but officers had established a perimeter, located him in the field and Hollingsworth complied with their order to surrender.

Hollingsworth was transported and booked into the Greene County Jail around 1:15 a.m. by LPD Officer Logan Hobbs.

Hollingsworth is being held on the parole revocation and numerous other potential felony and misdemeanor charges as a result of the Friday night incident, including criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

He was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics at the time of his arrest, and may also be facing drug-related charges.

According to the ISP, Hollingsworth was being held without bond.
