County Jail

Several people have been booked into th Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 3 p.m. on Friday, Emily Jane Wilson, 27, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

* At noon on Saturday, Christopher Gerlach, 27, Coatesville, was taken into custody on a warrant for invasion of privacy, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

* At 8 p.m. on Sunday, Brad Martin, 31, Mecca, was housed at the jail for dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

* At 5:35 a.m. on Sunday, Donell Jermaine Johnson, 41, Roachdale, was booked in for nonsupport of a dependent.

At 11:03 a.m. Annae Deshon Brandon Harris, 25, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

At 11:30 a.m. Lauren Raye Rich, 31, Greenwood, was booked in for possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

City Police

One citation for possession of paraphernalia was issued recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 12:07 a.m. Saturday, Kenneth Law, 20, Greencastle, received a summons from Sgt. Eric Vaughan, issued at a Castlesbury Apartments unit.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County sheriff's deputies responded to six recent property damage accidents.

* At 12:52 a.m. on Sunday, Danise S. Johnson, 36, Louisville, was westbound on Interstate 70 at the 45-mile marker in a 2004 Ford Explorer when she lost control on the ice-covered roadway.

The vehicle slid off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and rolled over.

Johnson was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.

The vehicle was towed. Deputy Virgil Lanning estimated damage at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, Matthew T. Loucks, 23, Terre Haute, was eastbound on Interstate 70 near the 30-mile marker in a 2004 Ford Taurus. He told Deputy Mike Downing he began to fishtail and then spun out of control on the ice-covered road.

The car entered the median and hit the cable barrier with the passenger-side front fender. Loucks said he then spun 360 degrees and hit the barrier again with the passenger side rear.

He came to rest facing west in the eastbound median.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 10:22 a.m. on Sunday, Nicholas D. Summerlot, 19, Coatesville, was southbound on County Road 900 West in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. He was following Kinsley S. Kemp, 17, Greencastle, who was driving a 1999 Ford Escort.

Both drivers told Capt. Tom Helmer that Kemp lost control as she attempted to turn left on County Road 1250 South, her car sliding into a ditch on the west side of the road.

Summerlot said he applied his brakes to avoid a collision, but slid on the ice-covered road and rear-ended the car. The impact pushed Kemp's car into a fence.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000. Kemp's car had to be towed.

* At 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, Brett M. Gierke, 21, Fillmore, was northbound on Heritage Drive crossing over the spillway in a 2011 Chrysler 200.

Gierke told Reserve Deputy Ken Rozelle he was unable to negotiate the 90-degree curve on the ice-covered road. The car hit a guardrail with the passenger side front fender.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 7:58 p.m. on Sunday, Derek R. Lehr, 23, Fillmore, was eastbound on County Road 25 South approaching a sharp curve in a 2003 Ford ZX3.

He told Deputy Lanning he turned the wheel to make the corner but lost traction on the ice. The vehicle left the right side of the road, hit a ditch and rolled over.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Samantha R. Langley, 20, Center Point, was southbound on County Road 775 West just south of County Road 1150 South in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix when she hit a deer.

Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damages at $2,501-$5,000.
