Putnam County leaders take a moment during the most recent commissioners meeting to honor a lifesaving effort by county highway employee Greg Whitman (center). On Feb. 11, Whitman pulled a woman from the icy waters of Little Walnut Creek after she left the road and her car overturned in Madison Township. Making the presentation are (front left) Commissioner President David Barry, (front right) County Council President Darrel Thomas and (back) commissioners Rick Woodall and Don Walton.
