Rotary Speech Winners

Courtesy Photo Greencastle High School students took the top three places in the annual Greencastle Rotary Club Speech Contest recently. Flanked by GHS speech teacher Beth Bax (left) and Greencastle Superintendent Dawn Puckett (right), are speech contests winners (from second left) Esther Hale, third place; Colin Dombrowski, first place; and Rose White, second place. Two other county high schools also participated with North Putnam and South Putnam joining Greencastle as students select a Rotary topic or Rotary service project for the basis of their speech. Prizes were awarded to the top three speeches, with $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. Dombrowski and White will now move on to the April 16 Rotary District 6560 contest where first place is awarded $500 and the opportunity to speak at the Rotary 6560 District Conference April 22-23.
