Cloverdale kindergarten registration set

CLOVERDALE -- Kindergarten registration for 2016-17 in Cloverdale is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 at the Cloverdale Elementary School, 311 E. Logan St., from 5-6 p.m.

Children who will turn five years old on or before Aug. 1, 2016 are eligible for enrollment for the 2016-17 school year.

On April 6, parents need to bring the following items for their child: Birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security number and any court/custody papers.

All kindergarten students in attendance that evening will receive a special item, Principal Brad Sandy announced.

Following submission of completed registration forms, parents will be notified to schedule a kindergarten screening time, which will take place during registration in August.

The screenings provide the school and parents with an idea of the student's level of kindergarten readiness, and assists the school in placement assignments.
