Eagle softball wins, baseball falls

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Beautiful weather Wednesday afternoon made way for exciting baseball at South Putnam Wednesday as the Eagle baseball and softball teams each played at home.

After earning the WIC division win against South Vermillion Tuesday, the baseball team fell short 8-4 at home to the Wildcats despite the comeback effort. Down 7-1 Brandon Gierke hit a tthree-run shot over the center field fence. However SPHS couldn't gain the runs for the sweep.

The softball team scored early and often. Big hits and smooth baserunning led to a 17-6 win against Covenant Christian in five innings.
