County Jail

Eight people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Michael Sidney Anvoots, 27, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

At 8:45 a.m. Christopher Antwain Burhannon, 30, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a warrant.

* At 12:56 a.m. on Wednesday, Carey David Hammond, 40, Clayton, was arrested on a warrant.

At 3:30 p.m. Hector Manuel Renteria Flores, 32, Houston, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

At 4:25 p.m. Zackary King, 23, Greencastle, was booked in on a Marion County warrant.

At 5:35 p.m. Kevin Heckman, 36, Brazil, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

At 9:15 p.m. Larry Dale Patterson Jr., 35, Cloverdale, was charged with operating while intoxicated.

At 9:30 p.m. Darrin Anthony Lynch, 51, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a warrant.

City Police

Greencastle City Police made two recent arrests.

* At 8:27 a.m. Tuesday, Chief Tom Sutherlin made an arrest at Indiana and Larrabee streets moments after hearing a police dispatch describe a wanted suspect.

Herbert Dewbrew III, 34, Greencastle, was arrested on a Department of Correction parole warrant. He was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

* At 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, Destiny Conover, 20, Poland, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee after a traffic stop at Arlington Street and Shadowlawn Avenue.

Conover, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, was arrested on a Putnam County warrant connected with original charges of theft and possession of marijuana.

Two young men will be summoned into court after a traffic stop by Officer Elsiana Crosby at Hanna and Bloomington streets.

* At 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, Officer Crosby stopped a vehicle occupied by Chase Rollins, 21, Indianapolis, and Christian Rivera, 19, Greencastle.

Rollins and Rivera will be summoned into court to answer possession of marijuana charges.

One recent traffic accident was reported by city officers.

* At 3:24 p.m. Monday, two-vehicle mishap occurred on Round Barn Road, just north of Indianapolis Road, as Amy Clark, 43, Greencastle, was leaving the southwest exit of Putnam Plaza in a 2012 Cadillac and collided with a 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Coemensia Rena, 52, Greencastle, who was southbound on Round Barn Road.

Officer Lee estimated total damage at $2,500-$5,000.

Two recent traffic citations were issued by GPD Officer Zach Rhine.

* At 11:17 p.m. Monday, he ticketed Derrick Pemberton, 20, Greencastle, at Shadowlawn and College avenues.

Pemberton was cited for having no operator's license (expired learner's permit) and having a false or fictitious registration.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County sheriff's deputies responded to one recent property damage crash.

At 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Chase R. Ruble, 16, Coatesville, was northbound on County Road 600 East at U.S. 36 in a 2001 Dodge Neon. Jason W. English, 36, Indianapolis, was eastbound on U.S. 36 in a 2005 Dodge Ram.

Ruble was stopped at the intersection but then drove into the path of English's vehicle.

English's truck drove over the front of Ruble's car and then continued eastbound, crossing the westbound lanes and leaving the road, hitting an embankment and coming to rest in the ditch.

Ruble complained of chest pain and was taken to Hendricks by his parent. English had facial bleeding and was taken by PMH.

Capt. Tom Helmer investigated the accident, assisted by Reserve Deputy Ken Rozelle and Maj. Dwight Simmons. Floyd Township Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

Damage was estimated at $25,001-$50,000. Both vehicles were towed.
