Putnamville Correctional Facility Superintendent Brian Smith presents a check for $500 to United Way of Putnam County Executive Director Jennifer Edwards. The donation will be a part of a "fundraising campaign which then is allocated directly into Putnam County through community partners who serve the community via their programs and services," Edwards said. PCF Supt. Smith said the facility strives "to assist our local communities in any way possible." (Courtesy photo)

The annual meeting of the United Way of Putnam County is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 at the Inn at DePauw.

Sponsored by DePauw University, the 6-8:30 p.m. event will also feature a silent auction, plentiful hors d'oeuvres, dessert and a cash bar.

A pair of awards -- United Way Director of the Year and the Shining Star Award -- will be presented that night.

Social hour will be from 6-7 p.m. with heavy hors d'oeuvres included. No dinner will be provided at the event.

Dessert and the program will start at 7 p.m.

A silent auction and a cash bar will continue throughout the night.
