South Putnam alumna CARLIE RENE~ NICHOLS was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Oakland City University.

A junior majoring in English and journalism, Nichols has made the dean's list four times at Oakland City.

She spent this semester as the assistant editor for the campus newspaper The Collegian.

Nichols was also awarded the Paula Pendergrass Scholarship at OCU for being the junior English major with the highest GPA.

Carlie is the daughter of Mitch and Marcia Nichols of Fillmore.


A pair of Putnam County students were named to the spring dean's list at Vincennes University.

To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must complete at least 12 credit hours and achieve a grade point index of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Fillmore residents TRISTAN K. HOLLIS and CLAYTON C. SPENCER both made the list.

Hollis is majoring in law enforcement. Spencer is an automotive technology major.


Five Putnam County residents were among 534 students who received degrees from DePauw University on May 22.

ANGELA HACKER of Cloverdale received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in biochemistry.

Four Greencastle students also received degrees.

CHRISTOPHER CLARK received a Bachelor of Arts degree with physics major.

ALISON HOWARD received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in communication.

ALEX LOGAN received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in computer science.

HUNTER MITCHELL received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in biology.
