Putnam County sheriff's deputies responded to five recent property-damage crashes.

* At 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Brandon M. Wunderlich, 19, Bainbridge, was northbound on County Road 875 South in a 2003 Nissan Frontier when a deer ran into his path.

Wunderlich told Deputy Jacob Harrington he swerved to avoid the deer and left the road, hitting a utility pole.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Joshua R. Christian, 34, Plainfield, was backing westbound on County Road 200 West in a 2004 Dodge Ram.

Christian told Deputy Harrington he was attempting to turn around in the road when his truck's rear end ran off the road and hit a tree on the west side.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 10:15 p.m. Monday, Matthew J. Cole, 20, Elwood, was traveling on County Road 225 South in a 1983 Ford F150. Cole told deputies Elizabeth Campbell and Matt Biggs he had four passengers, including two in the truck bed.

Cole said the alignment on his truck was messed up, which caused him to lose control and hit the northwest side of a bridge embankment, which caused the truck to flip upside down into Big Walnut Creek.

Two females, Sasha Stuckey and Amy Pridemore, were in the cab with Cole. Stuckey, 26, Gosport, reported neck and right knee pain and was taken to Putnam County Hospital. Pridemore, no city listed, had severe head pain and cuts to her lower body. She was advised to go to the hospital but refused.

David L. Whalen and Zachary P. Downard were in the bed of the truck. Whalen, 28, Greencastle, had back pain and minor cuts and was taken to Hendricks Regional. Downard, 23, Carmel, had no reported injuries but was also taken to Hendricks for observation.

Cole was not injured.

The driver reported that no one was wearing a safety belt.

The truck was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 7:21 p.m. on Monday, Sheanna L. Webber, 27, Sheridan, was northbound on County Road 525 West at County Road 275 South in a 2003 Jeep Liberty.

Webber told Deputy Campbell she took the intersection too quickly and lost control.

She hit a fallen tree on the west side of the road, which caused her vehicle to flip and rotate before coming to rest facing southbound.

Both Webber and her minor passenger, Koda Curry, were taken to Putnam Count Hospital for possible injuries.

The vehicle was towed.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.
