County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

* At 7:48 p.m. Perry Ray Penter, 49, North Salem, was lodged at the jail for probation violation.

* At 7:11 p.m. Shane Alan Fidler, 25, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a Marion County warrant.

* At 2:27 p.m. William Chris Davis, 35, Poland, was housed at the jail for probation violation.

* At 10:47 a.m. Courtney Jane Michalik, 25, Cloverdale, was booked in on a warrant.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 11:38 p.m. Wednesday, Patricia Shaw, 30, Greencastle, was arrested by Reserve Officer Billy Wallace.

Stopped on West Walnut Street, Shaw was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a minor passenger in the vehicle.

Shaw registered .143 percent blood-alcohol content under portable breathalyzer testing. Under Indiana law, .08 percent BAC is considered intoxicated.

She was lodged in the Putnam County Jail

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a pair of recent property-damage crashes.

* At 1:58 a.m. on Thursday, Tyler D. Alspaugh, 23, Crawfordsville, was southbound on U.S. 231 just south of County Road 1000 North in a 2006 Dodge Durango when a deer entered the road.

Alspaugh told Deputy Riley Houghton he swerved to miss the animal and collided with two guardrails.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 10:12 p.m. on Wednesday, Russell P. Elliott, 70, Greencastle, was northbound on County Road 150 West, south of County Road 300 South in a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette.

Elliott told Deputy Houghton there was standing water in the roadway. After making it through one patch of water, his car stalled as he tried to make it through a second.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
