PITTSBORO -- Tri-West defeated Greencastle 25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 13-15 on Monday night in varsity volleyball action.

Maggie Meyer led the team with 23 digs and 4 aces, while Madison Trout had 12 kills to lead the offense.

Jalyn Duff recorded 22 assists.

"The team struggled to push points early in each set," Greencastle Maggie Walters said. "They were able to come back from most point deficits, but made some silly errors at crucial times near the end of each set.

"The team served very aggressively, and they were able to get Tri-West out of system at times, but then we had a hard time putting the ball away in transition."

Walters looks for improvement over the next couple of weeks.

"We have a young offensive team, but a ton of potential," she said. "We're looking forward to improving our offensive play."
