GHS golf trio honored as Academic All-State

Greencastle’s Lindsey Bridgewater, Gabby Selvia and Alex Weliever were among 18 seniors selected to the Indiana High School All-Academic State Golf Team. 

The selections were based on grade-point average and test scores. 

“This is the first time that three girls from the same school were selected to this elite team,” Greencastle coach Robert Hedge said. 

The student-athletes were treated to an awards banquet with their parents on Friday night at the Country Club of Indiana.

This year, Greencastle won the Putnam County championship and placed third in the sectional, advancing to the regional level.

Megan Ramer of Terre Haute North and Halley Kuntz of Plainfield were other area players named to the squad.
