Gerald 'Jerry' A. Baker

Gerald "Jerry" A. Baker, 57, Reelsville, passed away Oct. 30, 2016 at his residence after battling pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Niles, Mich., on Oct. 13, 1959, the son of George and Edna Baker.

He retired from Verizon Wireless in 2011 as a RF engineer.

After retirement he carried out his dream of opening a bait shop, Buck and Dumb Bass Outdoors, in Cloverdale.

Jerry's hobbies included hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling. He also got the most joy out of spending time with family and grandchildren.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cloverdale and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Greencastle.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Hemphill Baker; daughters Ashley (Joe) Jones of Cloverdale and Emily (Dayne) Nelson of Greencastle; grandchildren Easton and Luke Jones and Kennedy Nelson; sister Glenda (Mark) Yarrish, Niles, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

A celebration of life service will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the American Legion in Cloverdale.
