Martha Agnes Stotts

Martha Agnes (Parnell) Stotts, 85, Greencastle, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at Putnam County Hospital.

She was born on Monday, Jan. 5, 1931 in Greensburg, Ky., to the late William Taylor and Bessie (Rogers) Parnell.

Martha was a seamstress at King Tarpaulin in Gosport and retired in 1978.

She enjoyed walking, traveling, sewing and Christmas was her favorite time of year.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Bakeborn of Greencastle and Brenda Gail Butcher of Xenia, Ohio; sisters Rossetta Montgomery, Mamie Campbell and Betty Hancock; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Martha was also preceded in death by her husband, William Hairm Stotts, whom she married on Jan. 24, 1954, and he passed away on April 29, 1956; son William Roney Milby; siblings William A. Parnell, Howard Parnell, Beatrice Curry, Lorain Robertson and Opal Fraley; and grandson Chris Milby.

Services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at Costin Funeral Chapel, Martinsville, with Pastor Stephen Carter officiating.

Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at Costin Funeral Chapel.
