Visitor trafficking drugs to brother arrested at PCF
PUTNAMVILLE -- A male visitor was arrested Thursday at the Putnamville Correctional Facility for reportedly attempting to pass drugs and other contraband to his incarcerated younger brother.
Alan Rogers, 32, of Monticello, was booked into the Putnam County Jail on a pair of Level 5 felonies, attempted trafficking with an inmate and possession of suboxone.
Alan Rogers was visiting with his brother, offender Seth Rogers, 28, when he allegedly attempted to traffic four small strips (believed to be suboxone) and two cell phone sim cards in a sealed package, authorities said.
He was arrested by a correctional police officer after he surrendered the contraband and was transported to the Putnam County Jail for booking.
Seth Rogers is currently serving two consecutive 30-month sentences out of White County for possession of methamphetamine and neglect of a dependent. He has a current release date of Nov. 27, 2018.
Offender Rogers is currently in restricted housing under investigation.
“Another great collaboration effort between departments and intelligence gathering,” PCF Superintendent Brian Smith commented. “We will prosecute those who don’t want to follow the law and our policies.”
