Members of the Fraternal Order of Police, volunteers and Santa gather at the Greencastle Police Department Thursday before setting out to deliver gifts to needy Putnam County children for the annual FOP Santa Drop. Santa and his law enforcement helpers delivered gifts to 34 children this year and helped other organizations. “This is one of the happiest times in a law enforcement officer’s career when they interact with the children,” GPD Asst. Chief Brian Hopkins said. “Seeing children standing at their window and smiling as law enforcement pull up to their house and Santa gets out of the police car is priceless. This could not have been possible without the support of the community.” A complete list of donors and sponsors will be published at a later date.

  • Thanks GPD and other law enforcement for taking time to make sure the children had Christmas gifts. I do hope the parents were thankful.
