City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to two dispatches.

• At 7:59 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a motor-vehicle accident in the area of Water Works Hill on U.S. 231. The accident, which involved injuries treated by Operation Life, was deemed clear at 8:39 p.m. after GFD removed fluids and debris from the roadway.

• At 12:16 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at the intersection of County Road 750 South and Fillmore Road. It was determined that a dry-sprinkler system had actived unnecessarily and the Greencastle Police Department had already secured the building upon arrival. GFD and maintenance workers for the building turned off and reset the alarm before GFD returned to station at 1:18 p.m.
