BOYS

Friday

North Putnam (4-8, 0-4) at Greencastle (1-7, 0-4)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Tiger Cubs picked up their first win last Saturday, 84-51 over Rockville. North Putnam also won on Saturday, 57-30 over North Vermillion, to break a three-game losing skid.

History: The teams split a pair of games last year, with the Tiger Cubs winning 77-30 in the regular season and the Cougars winning 67-63 in the county tourney consolation game.

WIC impact: The winner finishes fifth in the West Division and the loser places sixth.

Media coverage: WREB-FM 94.3 will broadcast.

Cloverdale (10-5, 2-2) at Cascade (7-4, 2-1)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Clovers have won five straight and eight of nine since starting 2-4. Cascade’s losses have come to Tri-West (59-46 and 83-53), Edgewood (60-47) and Danville (61-44).

History: The Clovers have won four straight games against the Cadets, including a 64-40 homecourt win last season.

WIC impact: Cascade has played one fewer conference game than Indian Creek (3-1) and the Clovers, who would move into third place with a win.

Northview (9-2, 4-0) at South Putnam (3-7, 2-2)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: Northview has won three straight games and six of the last seven. South Putnam has lost five straight.

History: Northview has won three straight games in the series, including a 65-29 game last year in Brazil.

WIC impact: The Knights have won the West Division since they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker against the winner of tonight’s Sullivan-West Vigo game. South Putnam will finish fourth in the West Division, since they would lose the tiebreaker to either West Vigo or Sullivan.

Saturday

Greencastle at Edgewood

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: Edgewood is 9-5 going into tonight’s home game with Owen Valley, and has won two straight.

History: Edgewood has won seven straight games, including a 54-30 game at Greencastle last year.

Scouting report: Guard Cooper Bybee is Edgewood’s leading scorer.

North Putnam at Monrovia

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: Monrovia is 5-7 and does not play tonight, having won two of its last three games.

History: The Bulldogs have won the last three games in the series, including a 59-45 road win last year.

Scouting report: Senior guard Luke Smith leads the Bulldogs in scoring withi 22.2 points per game. Luke Seber (6-6 senior) and Maxwell Newman (6-7 sophomore) both average 10.6 points per game.

GIRLS

Friday

North Putnam (1-14, 0-4) at Greencastle (11-7, 4-0)

Game time: 6 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Cougars picked up their only win against Rising Sun in the Speedway Tourney in December, while the Tiger Cubs have won six of their last seven games.

History: Greencastle won 38-7 in November in the county tournament.

WIC impact: Greencastle has won the West Division, and North Putnam will finish sixth regardless of tonight’s outcome.

Cloverdale (11-7, 1-3) at Cascade (12-4, 4-0)

Game time: 6 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Clovers broke a two-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 66-35 win at West Vigo. Cascade won 64-56 at Northview on Tuesday to snap a two-game losing streak.

History: Cascade has won the last 11 meetings, including a 56-44 road win last year.

WIC impact: Cascade has won the East Division title, while Cloverdale will finish fifth regardless of tonight’s action.

Northview (13-6, 3-1) at South Putnam (11-7, 2-2)

Game time: 6 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: South Putnam has gone 4-4 over its last eight games. The Knights have lost four of their last six games since starting the season 11-2.

History: Northview won 60-42 at Brazil last year.

WIC impact: Northview will finish second in the West with a win, while South Putnam would finish third with a win.

North Montgomery at North Putnam

Game time: 1:30 p.m. varsity tipoff.

So far: North Montgomery is 8-9 going into tonight’s game at Danville. The Chargers have won three of their last five games.
